County Cub Activity Day

Oxfordshire County Cub Fun Day Dear County Cub Leaders As I hope you have been made aware by your District Team we are holding a County Cub Fun Day on Saturday 26th September and all the Cubs in the County are invited to attend and take part! The event will take place at the Horley Scout Camp site near Banbury from 09.00 until 18.00. Due to access restrictions at Horley arrivals and departures will need to be staggered and so more accurate times for each District to arrive and depart will be provided closer to the day and once numbers have been established. This event is not a competition but an opportunity, as part of this Year of Adventure, for Cubs to try some different activities and also as a lead up to the County Cub Centenary Camp that we are planning for June 2016. All cubs that attend will have the opportunity to complete at least one of the following “Premium” activities as well as dozens of others that will be provided by the Districts’ attending:  Shooting  Archery  Climbing  Laser Tag  Inflatable Obstacle Course All Cubs attending will be provided with a record card to encourage them to try 100 new activities between the Fun Day and the Centenary Camp. Examples could include anything from learning a new knot, to trying climbing, to earning a new badge. We will also be looking for Cubs to design a badge for the Centenary Camp. The winning design will be worn by every Cub Scout in the County! Cubs should come to the event in full uniform but should also bring some more casual clothes to complete the activities in. The cost for the event is just £5 per Cub, and Cubs will need to bring a packed lunch with them for the day. Districts will be collating payments, which won’t need to be provided until September, but due to the timing of the event numbers need to be established prior to the Summer Holidays. So can you please advise your District Cub Leader/ ADC how many Cubs will be attending from your Pack no later than Friday 17th July 2015.
