THE DC’s ANNUAL BARBECUE

incorporating the North Oxfordshire District

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

We will be holding a barbecue for all adults involved in North Oxfordshire Scouting on the evening of Saturday 19th Sept at Horley campsite, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. This social occasion will give us all the opportunity to enjoy each other’s company and to celebrate the success of Scouting within North Oxfordshire. For a (very) short time during the evening, we’ll all convene to carry out the formal AGM for the Scout District, receiving the official Annual Report and financial accounts from the District Executive and appointing and electing the new Executive for the forthcoming twelve months.

We will be providing some food and soft drinks. Please do feel free to supplement this by bringing your own additional items as well. We’ll have altar fires available for those who want to do their own additional cooking. Please let Nick know whether or not you’ll be able to attend so that we have some prior warning of numbers for catering purposes.

During the evening we will be electing 6 people to serve on the Executive Committee for the next year, in addition to those appointed by the DC or who hold ex-officio positions. The Executive Committee meets during the evening on four occasions during the year and oversees the ‘business’side of the District. Its members are formally the trustees of our District Scout Association. You will need to nominate a seconder to support your nomination. No nominations will be taken on the night. If we have more people offering to serve than places, then we will hold an election on the evening of the barbecue.
